A beginner workshop with NO FORMULAS! This workshop is for people who would like to gain a basic understanding of Item Response Theory (IRT) and Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). Attendees will become familiar with basic IRT terminology, what it is, how it works, and how IRT compares to classical test theory. The fundamentals of CAT will be discussed. Attendees will also learn what is required to create and administer CAT. This workshop is appropriate for researchers with little knowledge or experience with IRT and/or CAT.
